Alexander Anton

(19.09.1870 - 10.10.1945)

Norwegian educator and politician, representative of the liberal party.

Born in Thvestrand in the family of a sailor Alexander Paulsen. He studied mathematics in Leipzig from 1894 to 1895. During his career, he worked mainly as a school teacher and director: in Christiania, Bode, Skien, Christiania, Lillehammer, Drammen and Skinna.

Alexander was involved in politics. He was a member of the city council of Schien from 1910 to 1914 and the city council of Lillehammer from 1928, during 1934-1936. entered the Norwegian Parliament.

Alexander has written many articles and books. He made mathematical calculations and assisted in the preparation of publications on the results of polar expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup, Royal Amundsen, and Gunnar Isaxen.
