Khramtsov Alexander Alekseevich

 

Hydrograph, lieutenant colonel.

Information about him is available only since 1828, when he entered the cadet in 1 navigator half-crew. In 1835, Khramtsov was promoted to the conductors of the corps of military topographers and for four years on the schooners "Whirlwind", "Snow" and the brig "Okhta" as part of an expedition led by M.F. Reineke participated in the inventory and measurement of Finnish skerries. One of his colleagues in this period was S.A. Moiseev.

In the navigation of 1840 and 1841. Khramtsov already in the rank of ensign on the ships "St. George the Victorious”and “Grand Duke Michael” cruised in the Baltic Sea, and in the brig Kommerstraks was shooting and measuring in the Finnish skerries.

Khramtsov’s service in the hydrographic department continued until 1854. His last position in this department is the producer of the affairs of the shipping committee.

In 1854 he was promoted to captain, and in 1856 he was appointed head of the shipbuilding department.

In 1859, with the rank of lieutenant colonel Khramtsov, retired.

For a long and impeccable service, he was awarded the orders of St.Anna 3 degrees and St.Stanislav 2 degrees.

An island, a peninsula, a bay in Moller Bay on the west coast of the southern island of Novaya Zemlya. Named in 1839 by the head of the Novaya Zemlya hydrographic expedition S.А. Moiseev.
